Blog Newbie

Ok, this is my initial blog.  Once published I cannot  turn back.  Soon no longer to be a blogging virgin.  I just hope that something creative comes my way.

Thanks Gabriel for helping me to set this up.  I know your 11 year old impatience was anxious for me to just start writing while my double virgo self wanted the details of the blogspace to be taken care of first.  Not a word could be typed until every widget was in its place.  But here I am and wondering what I want to do with all of this empty space.  Should it really just be ramblings of what comes to my mind the moment my fingers touch the keyboard?  Should I plan out themes? Should it all have some deeper meaning?

Then again, does what I write really have to be useful?  Can it just be for fun, like scrabble on FB, or a visit with friends.  I just hope that someone actually visits and reads what I write.  So, without feeling more self-conscious than I already am, thanks for being here.  Yes, you, reader.  Thanks.

I’m actually glad to be making the time for myself to sit and write.  It seems and I know it to be true that we are all so busy it is hard to find time for ourselves with work, family, friends, school, sports and on and on.  I feel like I’m hardly ever living in the moment, but always looking at what bills need to be paid, appointments to be made, homework to get done; racing to work… looking at how many days until the weekend or vacation… how much to prepare so I WILL have fun in the future.  But what about today?  What about now?

At least this blog brings me to the now!  Except I have to go check that the kids have finished flossing & brushing, and showers and…

I’ll have to continue this tomorrow.

    Ok, I’ll bite.

What’s the meaning of life? What is my purpose for being here?

Nah! More like… I can’t remember what I ate for dinner. I wonder if I’ve grown the last year. How large will the incision be?

Wait! Isn’t this what FB is for?

It’s fun to read family musing. So I guess I’m compelled to return to your blog.

Perhaps, someday, I will join in the blog-o-sphere. Julie and Julie was inspiring. Enjoy and thanks for sharing!!

This can be like a journal for you, Ali. You can take time for yourself and write things that happened during your day and contemplate and even analyze. And the best part is, I’ll get to be nosy and read it. I’ll have to bring my laptop over and have Gabriel help me set one up. It wouldn’t be fair for me to read yours and not let you read mine. Sorta like, I’ll show you mine if you show me yours. Wasn’t grammar school fun?
